| | | Your Statistics | Yahoo! Site can tell you almost everything
about what's happening in your site. You see a summary
of your statistics each time you log in.
Statistics are updated once a day, usually in the middle of
the night.
Since you probably won't have
any statistics to look at until your site has been open for a few
days, we've arranged for you to be able to look at data
from an existing site.

Each time you log in, you'll see a graph showing your daily
page views for the last year. If you click on this graph, you'll
go to a page with a bigger version. And at the bottom of that page
you'll see a number of different time periods you can see
statistics for.
All the graphs are gifs, so they're easy to download and incorporate
in reports.

Under the graph of site traffic, you'll see a list of the most visited pages
in your site. If you click on
the [More] link at the bottom of the list, you'll be able to see page
views for each page in your site, for any time period.
In each line, a thumbnail graph
shows the trend over that period for each page. You can use these
graphs to alert you when individual pages in your site become stale.

Next you'll see a list of the top five places your visitors came from.
If you click on the [More] link at the bottom, you'll see a complete
list of
what sites your visitors came from As with Per Page statistics, you can change the time period at the bottom of the page.
For many
sites, including search engines, you'll see a Details link at the
end of the line. If you click on that, you'll see detailed data
for visitors from that site.
For search engines, you should see the
actual search keywords used by your
visitors.
On average, you'll get referrer
data for about half your visitors, which is usually enough to be
statistically significant.

Finally, you'll see a list of what visitors to your site have
searched
for.
Every site made with Yahoo! Site is searchable, and we keep
track of all the searches for you.
This not only helps you to understand your visitors, but
also shows where your site can be improved. When visitors do
searches, it often means either
that your site is missing something they expect, or that some
part of your site is too hard to find.
